KSC President Melinda Treadwell is resigning from her position, effective October 24, according to a September 16 email statement from the President’s Office sent to the campus community.

“I have been blessed to serve you all,” she wrote in her statement.

Treadwell will be leaving the college to take on the presidency of the State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo, a position she accepted a nomination for this past June, according to the email statement.

“As President, I have strived to serve with integrity, trustworthiness, and transparency. I am proud of our many successes during a time of great challenges,” Treadwell stated in her email statement.

Treadwell has served as the president of Keene State since 2017, when she succeeded former president Anne Huot in the role.

Treadwell also reflected on Keene State’s community in the statement.

“Keene State College is proud, lean, community-centered, and strategically well-positioned for success,” Treadwell stated.

Prior to her tenure as president, Treadwell served as interim provost and associate professor of the technology, design, and safety department, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She also held a brief stint as vice president for academic affairs and provost at Antioch University New England, a private graduate school located in Keene.

Following Treadwell’s resignation, the University System of New Hampshire’s Board of Trustees will appoint an interim president to serve while a search committee is formed to fill the role.

The Equinox will continue following this story and will release updates as they become available.
