Another semester means another installment of Plymouth Playlist. This one was inspired by a few different things; the fast approaching changing of seasons, a desire to have warm summer weather again, everyone’s favorite Irish holiday, and an appreciation for good music. If you ever want to suggest a song for a future playlist, please don’t hesitate to email me at tn1041@plymouth.edu.

Walking on Sunshine – Katrina & the Waves

This song always puts me in a good mood. Plus, now that the days are getting longer (yay!), it feels like I’m “Walking On Sunshine” a lot more. So, listen to this song if you want to put a little pep in your step, or if you’re excited about getting a few extra minutes of sunlight each day.

Take It Easy – Eagles

Take It Easy has always reminded me of summer. This is a song that would always play at family BBQ’s during the summer, so it brings up some good memories. March is a time where I (and many others) start really looking forward to summer, so I always put this song on to remember good times in the heat of summer.

Here Comes the Sun – The Beatles

Of course, a playlist made in spring wouldn’t be complete without this song. Here Comes the Sun is another one of those songs that just makes you feel good and reminds you of all the sun-soaked fun that comes with the changing of seasons.

I’m Shipping Up to Boston – Dropkick Murphys

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, so of course this playlist needs to include some Irish-inspired music. One song that most people know is I’m Shipping Up to Boston. It a song with an epic feel that really gets you in the Irish mood. Plus, every New Englander’s favorite football team, The Patriots, plays the song in the stadium before their home games quite often. So if you’re missing football like I am right now, listen to this song and it’s sure to hold you over until the beginning of the next season.

Dance the Night Away – Van Halen

Honestly, I can’t think of one bad Van Halen song. Every single one I’ve listened to has been great, and usually I’ll play it on repeat for days on end. This one is obviously another great one that I recently rediscovered after not listening to it for along time. Rediscovering it was like listening to it again for the first time, and I can’t complain about that! Dance the Night Away has definitely cemented its place in anygood classic rock playlist.
