Everyone has the right to climate justice, and to live in a community free of pollution.

As an intern and grassroots field organizer with Climate Action LCV, I know that grassroots organizing is all about outreach and encouraging responsibility and action. Climate Action LCV is an environmental nonprofit and project of the League of Conservation Voters. We are dedicated to spreading awareness about environmental issues, as well as advocating for conservation and green energy policy. One of the things we are encouraging people to do is sign petitions for Congressional initiatives.

The first petition is for the Environmental Justice for All Act. This act looks to address environmental racism. Communities of color are disproportionately located in polluted environments, near places like methane facilities.

The second petition is the Freedom to Vote Act, which would protect our freedom to vote in every state and expand voter access. This act combats big money in politics, promotes integrity in our election systems, and generally gives people access to clean air and water. If you are interested in signing, there is more information on the Mobilize website, where the online petitions are located.
