Liam Malik Pelosky joinedThe Clockin 2019 during his junior year to improve his writing skills, make new connections, and learn more about Plymouth State University. He started as the Assistant Features Editor under Jared Gendron, and then assumed the role of Features Editor for his senior year, where he is currently finishing out hisClockcareer.

During his first year withThe Clock, Pelosky met up with Gendron every week to edit articles and learn all the processes that went into creating the newspaper. It was also during this time that he wrote his first and still favorite article forThe Clock:a story on the Marketing Association of Plymouth State (MAPS), and specifically a podcast the club was creating. “It was such a novel experience to be writing about clubs and interviewing people… it was just so much fun. As a journalist, you can get into these worlds that you wouldn’t normally get into.” The MAPS story was also Pelosky’s first experience interviewing someone, a skill that he says has improved immensely after so much practice withThe Clock.

The Clockis just one of the many clubs and organizations Pelosky has been involved in throughout his tenure at PSU. He has been the president of the PSU Republicans and PSU Democrats, and is currently the president of the French Club, secretary of Model U.N., and treasurer of the Student Senate. Interweaving his writing forThe Clockwith his other clubs is Pelosky’s forte. His campus involvement has been a valuable asset to theFeatures Section. “One of the best things about being involved in so many clubs is being able to write inThe Clockabout what we do for the Dems, Model U.N., and French Club,” he said. “Having that work ethic to get me involved in so many different organizations, has been a great thing not just for myself, but for each of those clubs.”

Pelosky is graduating this spring a top 20 senior as a Political Science Major with a Global Tourism Minor. After May, he has his sights set on spending a year or two in a service organization or project: “something bigger than myself, preferably something that would help those who need it ­­– underserved communities, domestic or international.” Pelosky is considering working with the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, or any other type of public sector service agency.

The Clockwishes Liam the best in his future beyond PSU. His tenacity and eagerness to be involved will take him far. We know he will turn his passions for writing, public service, and humanitarian aid, into an incredible and rewarding life. Bonne Chance, Liam!
