“Plymouth State has given me many opportunities to grow, as well as a wonderful education,” says Sam Wisel ’12, the University’s new Annual Fund coordinator.

Throughout his four-year experience at Plymouth State, Wisel was no stranger to philanthropy or to giving back to the community. He served on the boards of Pemi-Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Student Support Foundation, traveled to the southern US with Alternative Spring Break, and went to Bolivia with the International Service Trip in 2012.
After an internship with the Spaulding Youth Center, assisting with marketing and fundraising efforts, Wisel served as PSU’s first advancement fellow, where his responsibilities included managing the Annual Fund Calling Program. He notes, “Our student calling program has been a key component in increasing alumni gifts to the Annual Fund. Student callers also enjoy talking with alumni and learning about their experiences at Plymouth State, and sharing news about the University as it is today. Over the past year, more than 200 new donors have made gifts to the Annual Fund, and we hope alumni will continue to support the University and invest in higher education for our students.”
